Bangladeshi toddler with three legs treated in Australia

English Desk : A Bangladeshi toddler, who was born with three legs, can now walk and Toddler-www.jatirkhantha.com.bdrun like a normal person after receiving medication at an Australian hospital, reports ABC News in Australia.

According to the report, a team of Melbourne surgeons performed a rare reconstruction of the girl’s lower body and internal organs.Choity Khatun was born in a village in Bangladesh with a condition called cordial twinning. The medical condition means she had part of a twin develop in her perineum.

Monash Children’s Hospital head surgery, professor Chris Kimber, said it was amazing she had survived her first two years. This is very rare. Many of these children die in the womb, or they die soon after birth,the surgeon was quoted to have said.

Choity survived in her village and at a few weeks of age was taken to the main children’s hospital in Bangladesh and they were very perplexed as to what to do, she was also quoted in the ABC report.
