Life expectancy rises in Bangladesh
A Correspondent : Life expectancy of the people in the country increased in 2014 to 70 years and seven months from 70 years and four months in 2013.
A survey report of the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) released on Sunday also said the average life expectancy of women was 2 years and five months higher in 2014 comparing with men.
The report titled ‘Monitoring the Situation of Vital Statistics of Bangladesh (MSVSB)’ has been unveiled at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in Dhaka.
According to the report, the life expectancy rate of women was higher at 71 years and six months in 2014 from 70 years and two months in 2013. For men the life expectancy increased to 69 years and one month in 2014 from 68 years and eight months in 2013.
The report has been made based on the information collected from 1,500 sample areas across the country in 2014. The report included 1,60,829 families while the gender proportion between men and women in data collection was 100.50.
