3 killed 9 injured in Colorado

Online Desk   :  Three people have died and nine are injured after a gunman opened fire at a family planning center in Colorado Springs.

“I want to convey to the loved ones of the victims, this is a terrible, terrible tragedy that occurred here in Colorado Springs today,” Mayor John Suthers told the media.

“Obviously, we lost two civilian victims; we mourn the loss of a very brave police officer.”

The police officer killed was 44-year-old Garrett Swasey, who had been working at the University of Colorado when the shooting broke out, CNN reports.

The shooter is understood to have surrendered after allegedly opening fire at the Planned Parenthood clinic on Centennial Boulevard earlier today in a standoff that dragged on for five hours.
