‘Didi will get a chance to discuss with Hasina about the Teesta issue’

International Desk:  Mamata-Hasina-www.jatirkhantha.com.bd.1Mamata-Hasina-www.jatirkhantha.com.bd.4444West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee is likely to travel to Delhi to attend the dinner on April 8 hosted by President Pranab Mukherjee in honour of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Mamata, who will arrive in the capital on April 7, is also likely to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discuss several issues including central funds to her state and the contentious Teesta water-sharing issue, sources said. Didi will get a chance to discuss with Hasina about the Teesta issue, before it is finalized.

The sources said Mamata, who had raised objections over the Teesta water-sharing agreement, is expected to meet Modi in the banquet. The Teesta pact is all the more important as Haisna’s prospect in the next general election of 2018 depends largely on it. Inputs have reached Dhaka that anti-India movement might rise before 2018 Bangladesh polls.
